In the summer of 2010, six months after my trip to New York.

Using my previous trip to New York as a launching pad, my next destination was Paris, the City of Art.
I had studied French for a year and a half to get there. Now it was time to show the fruits of my labor.

bout six months after my trip to New York,
I decided on Paris as my next destination.

Paris : the City of Art.  Yes, it was the first city I had to visit if I wanted to make a trip to visit art museums.

And if that was the purpose of my trip, I definitely wanted to visit one of the “world’s three great art museums.”
Paris is home to the Musée du Louvre.

The Musée d’Orsay, which is as famous as the Louvre, and the Centre Pompidou, which is famous for contemporary art.
The Orangery Museum and the Musée de Clunyfamous, for its tapestry of ladies and unicorns, are also located in Paris.
The city is also home to many famous private museums, such as the Rodin, Picasso, and Gustave Moreau Museums,
to name just a few.

And the city where my favorite architect, Le Corbusier, has his works and studio.

I could think of no other destination but Paris.

The trip lasted about two weeks.

I did a lot of preliminary research in order to make full use of these 13 days.

First, I decided on a place to stay, which would be our base for the trip.

Here, as in New York, the first thing I did was to search for “Japanese hotels in Paris”.

However, I couldn’t find any good Japanese hotels in Paris at that time.
However, when I looked at various blogs, I found a Korean inn where many Japanese backpackers stayed.

I found a Korean inn where many Japanese backpackers stayed.

This inn has about half Japanese and half Koreans staying there.

The owner and the lady who takes care of the guests are very kind, and at 30€ per night, it is a very wallet-friendly accommodation even in Paris, where accommodation costs are high.
And for this 30€, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included!
It was a very good value for money in the high cost of living in Paris.

(But when I checked it out, I found that it had been closed due to a police action more than 10 years ago. Apparently, they were not operating with a permit. It is now a company called UNIK CAR, which repairs cars, etc.
(The exterior is just as it used to be if not for the store sign, which I really miss)

Then we went next to make a list of museums and art galleries we wanted to visit.

Furthermore, a list of tourist attractions that we definitely want to visit, such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower.
Then a list of places to go shopping, such as the flea market in Clignancourt.
Then, make a list of all these places with their opening hours and closing days
(this is definitely a good thing to do if you want to visit many destinations in a short period of time).

The sad reality is that trying to get to all of these places in 13 days will be time-consuming, no matter how hard you try.
If you try to squeeze in a lot of time, you may be able to go, but you will not be able to see the museums that you wanted to visit in a leisurely manner.

Therefore, I gave up on a few places in tears and completed a schedule that would allow us to visit most of the museums I wanted to see.

Finally, the day of departure.

My longed-for trip to Paris had begun.
And the city where my favorite architect, Le Corbusier, has his works and studio.
